The women's and men's basketball teams accomplished something special last week by taking twin KCAC titles. It seems like every other month we're congratulating Tabor College on another significant accomplishment. This time it's the success of the women's and men's basketball programs. On one amazing Thursday night for local basketball fans, the Bluejay women won their first conference title in years and the Bluejay men clinched at least a tie for a repeat title, capping an amazing finish after a slow start in conference play. The men then nailed down the title outright by beating Ottawa on Saturday.

In addition to winning the conference regular-season title, the women and men earned an automatic berth in the NAIA Division II national tournaments for their respective genders. The women will travel to Iowa while the men will play in Missouri.

Thus raises the first dilemma for Bluejay fans: Which team to support? The tournaments are held during the same week.

It's a great dilemma to have, isn't it?

We congratulate coaches Rusty Allen and Don Brubacher for their great leadership on and off the court, and the players for their inspiring determination to succeed.

We wish all of you the best of luck as you try to add the KCAC post-season tournament title to your already impressive resume this week. Whatever else you accomplish this season, you already have made us proud. -DR
