10th ranked women win 83-67, men take 66-57 victory The 10th ranked Tabor Bluejay women won their 14th straight game Thursday night, downing the McPherson Bulldogs 83-67.

Tabor matched its largest lead of the first half with a 37-24 lead at halftime and never let the visitors get closer than eight points as they cruised home with the 16 point win.

Tabor displayed balanced scoring, placing five players in double figures led by Stacie Herman and Erica Dechant with 14 points each, Donya Anderson added 13 points and 13 rebounds, Erica Hemmert scored 12 and Jill Hein added 11.

Tabor connected on 19 of 33 second half shots (57.6 percent) and 49.3 percent for the game (34-of-69) while holding the Bulldogs to just 38.3 percent for the contest.

With the win, Tabor maintains its hold on the top spot in the KCAC with a 12-1 conference record, one game ahead of Sterling, while moving to 19-4 overall.

The Tabor men faced one of three teams one game ahead of them in the KCAC race and downed the visiting Bulldogs 66-57.

A Grant Brubacher runner at the halftime buzzer game Tabor its largest lead of the half at 29-27.

Tabor trailed just one more time the rest of the night, 30-29 and built a lead as large as 16 points in the second half before three consecutive 3-point buckets by McPherson sliced the lead to 54-47 with 4:59 remaining.

McPherson would inch as close as five points, 57-52 with just under two minutes to play but Tabor scored 10 of its final 12 points from the free throw line to preserve the important conference win.

Tabor connected on 17 of 24 charity tosses (70.8 percent) in the game while McPherson countered by sinking 12 of 33 3-point attempts.

The Bluejays were 22 of 48 (45.8 percent) from the field overall while McPherson hit 19 of 57 (33.3 percent) for the night.

With their fifth straight win, Tabor improves to 9-4 in KCAC play and 15-8 overall.

Tabor travels to North Newton Saturday night to battle the Bethel Threshers in a game originally scheduled to be played in Hillsboro.
Game time for the Bluejay women is 5:00 p.m.
