Mike Childs Sr., 60

Mike Jay Childs Sr., 60, of Marion, formerly with the Marion County Sheriff's office and employed in quality control at Martin Marietta Rock Aggregates, died Jan. 15 in McPherson.

The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, at Memorial Park in Hillsboro. The family has chosen a private interment.

He was born Nov. 4, 1944, to Edson J. and Naomi M. (Crandall) Childs in Santa Anna, Calif.

He is survived by one son, Mike Jay Childs Jr. of Lehigh; one sister, Marsha Postar of Albuquerque, N. M.; and one brother, Mark Childs of McPherson.

A memorial has been established with Central Homecare and Hospice in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home in McPherson.

Eddie E. Klose, 80

Eddie E. Klose, 80, of Marion, retired employee with the Marion County Road Department, died Jan. 13 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

The funeral was Jan. 17 at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Marion with pastor Alan Stahlecker officiating. Burial with military honors was at Marion Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 13, 1924, to Henry and Suzie (Berg) Klose in Ramona. On Nov. 30, 1947, he was married to LaVaughn Christensen, who survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Janel Dvorak and husband Tom of Newton; one son, Michael Klose and wife Donna of Hillsboro; one brother, Albert Klose of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Cora Lee Regier, 84

Cora "Corky" Lee Regier, 84, of Wichita, bookkeeper and former office manager with Irv Schroeder County Motors Inc. of Hillsboro, died Jan. 15 at her residence.

The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Halstead Cemetery. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at First Mennonite Church in Halstead. Officiant will be pastor Cleo Koop.

She was born Aug. 2, 1920, to Yantis and Alpha (Baxter) Hawkins in Lake City, Okla. On Oct. 27, 1940, she was married to Wilbert Dan Regier, who predeceased her in 1999.

She is survived by one son, Jarold Regier of Hollywood, Fla.; three daughters, Barbara Mize of Wichita, Sandra Rigby of Andover and Connie Regier of Spring, Texas; one sister May Miller of Wichita; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, First Mennonite Church of Halstead and Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church of Wichita in care of Kaufman Funeral Home of Halstead.

H. Schwartzman, 98

Helen Marie Schwartzman, 98, homemaker, died Jan. 14 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

The Mass of Christian Burial was Jan. 17 at Holy Family Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, of Tampa with Father Norbert Dlabal and Father Stephen Gronert officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Tampa.

She was born Aug. 18, 1906, to A.J. and Fannie Pospisil near Lost Springs. On Nov. 12, 1928, she was married to William Schwartzman, who predeceased her in 1990.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Jean McGonigle of Wichita and Geraldine Noonan of Dallas; three sons, John Schwartzman of Salina, Leroy Schwartzman of St. Louis and Wayne Schwartzman of Wichita; one brother, Emil Pospisil of Wichita; four sisters, Evelyn Strecker of Lost Springs, Stella Kohler of Silver Springs, Md., Victoria Zell of Shelby, Mont., and Lorena Pospisil of Libuse, La.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial has been established with Holy Redeemer Church Altar Society.

Phillip Williams, 61

Phillip Wayne Williams, 61, of Canton, employee of Chaparral Manufacturing Inc. of Mound- ridge, died Jan. 12 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.

The funeral was Jan. 16 at First Baptist Church of Canton. Burial was at Canton Township Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 8, 1943, to Walter Wayne and Georgia (Stevenson) Williams in San Diego.

He is survived by two sons, Patrick Williams and Brent Williams, both of Savannah, Ga.; one daughter, Erin Schmidt of Canton; one brother, Charles Williams of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Kay Anderson of La Mesa, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial has been established as the Phillip W. Williams Family Memorial Fund in care of Olson's Mortuary of Canton.
