The Hillsboro High School FFA chapter will be conducting a Christmas Tree Pick-Up on Saturday, Jan. 8.
Christmas trees need to be placed along street curbsides by 8 a.m. that day. The group requests all decorations be removed from the trees.
Residents can also drop-off their old trees in a designated area at the Marion County Fairgrounds from Saturday, Dec. 31 through Friday, Jan. 7.
Peabody students
on radio Dec. 24, 25
Peabody-Burns Junior/Senior High music groups will be featured in the KXKU Festival of Christmas Music again this year.
The festival is a yearly event sponsored by KXKU FM, 106.1, in Hutchinson.
The bands will air at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 24, and the vocal groups will air at 6:40 p.m, Saturday, Dec. 25. Steven D. Glover is the director of instrumental music, and Allison Many is the director of vocal music.
Grief support group
to meet Jan. 3
The next meeting of an area-wide grief support group will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 3, at 415 S. Lincoln, Hillsboro.
Open to anyone 65 and under, the group focuses on people who have lost a spouse or loved one.
The meeting will include a short devotional time and prayer, sharing time, informal visiting and refreshments.
There is no charge to attend.
The group meets twice a month, on the first and third Mondays.

Quilt guild to meet
Jan. 3 in Hillsboro
The Country Stitchers Quilt Guild will meet at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 3, at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
The program will be presented by member Sheryl Lehr.
Guests are welcome. The cost for non-guild members attending the presentation is $2.
Lincolnville meetings at new location
The city officials of Lincolnville announce that all future Lincolnville city meetings will be held at 512 Wichita St., beginning with the Monday, Jan. 3, meeting.
