Weldon G. Meier, 65, retired welder with Hillsboro Industries, died Dec. 16 at his home in Lehigh.
The funeral was Dec. 18 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion with pastor Bill Sherfy officiating. Burial was at Lehigh Township Cemetery.
He was born April 7, 1939, to Melvin C. and Olinda (Winter) Meier in Hillsboro. On April 22, 1989, he was married to Alma Winfrey of Lehigh, who survives.
He is also survived by his mother of Hillsboro; two sons, Shannon Meier and Thayne Meier, both of Lehigh; two step-sons, Ernest Bartosh of Fredricksburg, Va., and Keith Bartosh of Oklahoma City; one step-daughter, Janet Carroll of Fletcher, Okla.; two brothers, Owen Meier of Canton and Lloyd Meier of Marion; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Emmanuel Baptist Church and Hospice Care of Kansas.
N. Neaderhiser, 88
Naomi L. Neaderhiser, 88, retired nurse aide, died Dec. 16 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
The funeral was Dec. 18 at Danner Funeral Home in Abilene with pastor Laney Kuhn officiating. Burial was at Keystone Cemetery in Manchester.
She was born March 11, 1916, to Paul E. and Alvina (Brockmeier) Schmidt in Chapman. On Aug. 18, 1935, she was married to Roland Neaderhiser, who survives of Hillsboro.
She is also survived by one daughter, Elaine Lowry of Hillsboro; one son, Ben Neaderhiser of Tecumseh; one sister, Viola Watson of Enterprise; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Cuba Presbyterian Church or may be given in her name to a charity of the donor's choice in care of Danner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 758, Abilene, KS 67410.
Melvin O. Nelson, 91
Melvin O. Nelson, 91, retired industrial designer and farmer, died Dec. 14 at The Cedars in McPherson.
The funeral was Dec. 17 at Olson's Mortuary in Canton with spiritual leader Warren Potter officiating. Burial was at Empire Cemetery in Galva.
He was born June 19, 1913, to George Owen and Viola May (Meyer) Nelson in Hoisington. On Aug. 12, 1972, he was married to Shirley L. Chace, who survives of Canton.
He is also survived by one step-son, Robert Chace of Kansas City, Mo.; two step-daughters, Carol Neuer of Johnson County and Barbara Charlton of Lincolnshire, Ill.; four brothers, Earnest Nelson, Jarrell Nelson and Meyer Nelson, all of Johnson County and Leland Nelson of Dallas; nine step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Ruby Schlichting, 90
Ruby Schlichting, 90, of Midland, Texas, died Nov. 29 in Dallas.
The funeral was Dec. 4 at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland. Entombment was at Resthaven Memorial Park-North Mausoleum.
She was born July 31, 1914, to John W. and Mary (Nickel) Suderman in Hillsboro. She moved to Midland in 1949.
She is survived by two sons, Jay D. Schlichting of Dallas and Philip L. Schlichting of Midland; one daughter, Joan Adams Holland of Guymon, Okla.; one brother, Monroe Suderman of Conroe, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marilyn Suffield, 52
Marilyn Marie Suffield, 52, homemaker and certified nurse aide, died Dec. 16 at Legacy Park Nursing Home in Peabody.
The graveside service was Dec. 19 at Marion Cemetery with pastor Larry King officiating.
She was born June 18, 1952, to Henry and Isabella (Graham) Bezdek in Pittsburg. On Jan. 26, 2001, she was married to Dale Lee Suffield of Hillsboro, who survives.
She is also survived by one son, David Estey of Tennessee; three brothers, Harold Bezdek of Hillsboro, Derald Bezdek of Wichita and Ronald Bezdek of Abilene; one sister, Mary Franceen Bartel of Hillsboro; and one grandchild.
A memorial has been established with Good News Fellowship Church in care of Zeiner Funeral Home of Marion.
Joel Wiebe, 77
Joel Wiebe, 77, retired educator, died Dec. 16 in Fresno, Calif.
Over the years, he was an educator and administrator at Tabor College of Hillsboro, Fresno Pacific University, Fresno Christian Schools and Heritage Academy in Bakersfield, Calif.
A memorial service was held Dec. 21, at North Fresno Mennonite Brethren Church in Fresno.
He was born Dec. 31, 1926, to H.D. and Gertrude (Klaassen) Wiebe in Corn, Okla. On July 11, 1947, he was married to Lucille Elrich of Clovis, Calif., who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Barbara Klein and husband Ralph of Marion and Pati Funk and husband Don of Hillsboro; one son, Jay Wiebe and wife Annette of Fresno; one brother, James Wiebe of Fresno; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Tabor College.
Corey M. Wiens, 21
Corey M. Wiens, 21, maintenance worker with Best Western Motel in Bloomington, Ill., died Dec. 16 in Farmer City, Ill.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel with pastor Lee Suderman officiating. Prior to the service, burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Alexanderwohl Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 4, 1983, to ElRoy and Loretta (Voth) Wiens in Newton.
He is survived by his parents of rural Newton; one sister, Amy Wiens of Farmer City; grandfather Rudolf Voth of rural Newton; and grandmother O. Ruth Wiens of Inman.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Whitley Fund for Transplants.
Donald Williams, 83
Donald D. Williams, 83, U.S. Army veteran, farmer, and owner of a farming and trucking business, died Dec. 17 in Marion.
The funeral was Dec. 21 at the Christian Church of Florence with pastors Peter Banning and Harold Brown officiating. Burial with military rites was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.
He was born Aug. 27, 1921, to Henry and Allie Williams in rural Florence. On Aug. 28, 1947, he was married to Betty Robinson of Florence, who survives.
He is also survived by one son, Roger Williams of Florence; two daughters, Rita Linnens and Rhonda Heerey, both of Wichita two sisters, Arlene Schroer of Wichita and Lois Jean Howard of Houston; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Florence American Legion, John McKay Post No. 308.
