Bluejay women win 61-51, Tabor men fall 67-60 Tabor College hosted the Friends Falcons Saturday night in Hillsboro and came away with mixed results as the women won 61-51, but the Bluejay men lost their game 67-60.

The Tabor women were tied with Friends at 22 at halftime before outscoring the visitors by 10 in the second half.

Jill Hein led all scorers with 21 point on 9-of-18 shooting while Kelly Pavlik scored 13 points including seven straight in a critical juncture in the game.

Tabor hit 52 percent of its shots in the second half after connecting on just 27 percent in the opening half.

With the win, Tabor improves to 6-4 overall but more importantly 1-1 in KCAC play.

The Tabor men weren't as fortunate however.

Tabor led 21-11 at the 9:25 mark of the first half but the Falcons put a 25-4 blitz on the 'Jays to end the half ahead of Tabor 36-25.

Tabor came out in the second half and played some of its best ball of the season to overcome the double-digit deficit and take a 41-40 lead with 13:49 to play.

From then on, the game had 11 lead changes and three ties before Friends took the lead for good at 58-57 and went on for the seven point win.

Grant Brubacher was the lone Bluejay to reach double figures with 16 points while Anthony Monson contributed eight points and 10 rebounds.

Tabor was out scored 19-10 at the foul line in a game the officials lost control of on several occasions.

With the loss, Tabor falls to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
