Dorothy McDiffett, 81

Dorothy Mae Thrash McDiffett, 81, retired accountant, died Nov. 16 at her home in Marion.

The memorial service was Nov. 20 at the Episcopal Church of the Covenant in Junction City with pastor Dale Plummer officiating.

She was born Aug. 5, 1923, to William Goble and Effie Irene (Hall ) Thrash in Proctor, Minn. She was married to Howard Chambers, and they later divorced. She married James McDiffett in 1948, and their union ended after 36 years of marriage.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Chambers) McDiffett of Austin, Texas, and James McDiffett of Manhattan; two daughters, Marilyn "Tudy" Brunner of Marion and Laurie Stroda of Pratt; two brothers, Bill Thrash of North Platte, Neb., and Jim Thrash of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Ruth Hazelton of Mesa Ark.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the Episcopal Church of the Covenant.

Martin F. Meyer, 95

Martin F. Meyer, 95, farmer, died Nov. 21 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Tampa with pastor Clark M. Davis officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

He was born June 28, 1909, to Gerhard and Wilhelmina (Brandt) Meyer in Tampa. On Feb. 23, 1947, he was married to Florentine Rathke, who survives of Hillsboro.

He is also survived by one son, Glenn Meyer of Union City, Calif; two brothers, AnTon Meyer of Ramona and George Meyer of Ellinwood; and one sister, Magdalene Bentz of Tampa.

A memorial has been established with St. John's Lutheran Church.

Lillie Schlotthauer, 95

Lillie Haas Schlotthauer, 95, homemaker, died Nov. 22 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Marion with pastor Alan Stahlecker officiating. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 15, 1909, to Henry and Pauline (Reichert) Haas in Canton. On Aug. 13, 1926, she was married to David Schlotthauer, who predeceased her in 1953.

She is survived by two daughters, Frances Ridgeway of Hesston and Lois Johnson of Marion; three sisters, Dorothy Helmer and Doris Liggett, both of Newton, and Elsie Gerlach of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Our Savior Lutheran Church.
