Rosa L. Thimm, 82, registered nurse, died Oct. 26 at Parkview Center in Beatrice, Neb.
The funeral was Oct. 30 at First Mennonite Church of rural Beatrice with pastors Florence and Weldon Schloneger officiating. Burial was at First Mennonite Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 6, 1921, to John and Susie (Friesen) Bartel in Hillsboro. On Aug. 30, 1959, she was married to Randy Thimm Sr., who predeceased her.
She is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Stewart and husband Jon of Lincoln, Neb.; one son, Randy Thimm Jr. and wife Amy of Firth, Neb.; two sisters, Helen Bargen and husband Eldon of North Newton and Elda Bartel of Goessel; one sister-in-law, Myrta Bartel of Hillsboro; and five grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with First Mennonite Church.

Harvey Goertz, 90
Harvey Edwin Goertz, 90, agricultural extension agent, died Oct. 20 in Colorado.
The funeral was Oct. 28 at Velda Rose United Methodist Church in Mesa, Ariz., with pastor Mike Eaton officiating. Burial was at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa.
He was born Feb. 19, 1914, to Peter and Bena Goertz in Hillsboro. In 1939, he was married to wife Rose, who predeceased him in 2003.
He is survived by one son, Steve Goertz of Kingston, Jamaica; two daughters, Nancy Jorgensen of Littleton, Colo., and Janice Goertz of Geneva, Switzerland; one brother, Dave Goertz of Dodge City; one sister, Aldean Baldwin of Fontana, Calif; and many extended-family members.
A memorial has been established with the Velda Rose Youth Program.
Marie Wiens, 91
Marie Harder Wiens, 91, pastor's wife, died Oct. 25 in Hillsboro.
The funeral was Oct. 29 at First Baptist Church of Durham with pastors Curtis Wiens, Robert Wiens and James Wiens officiating. Burial was at Durham Baptist Cemetery in rural Durham.
She was born Nov. 29, 1912, to Jacob J. and Aganetha (Wiens) Harder in Inman. On June 4, 1938, she was married to Peter J. Wiens, who predeceased her in 1981.
She is survived by three sons, Curtis Wiens and wife Connie of Hillsboro, Robert Wiens and wife Mary of Sioux Falls, S.D., and James Wiens and wife Debbie of Troy, Ill.; one daughter, Marilyn Sween of Millersburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Elsie Winter, 85
Elsie Fielder (Converse) Winter, 85, retired from the food-service industry, died Oct. 29 at Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City.
The funeral was Nov. 1 at Marion Christian Church with pastor Carl Helm officiating.
Burial was at Marion Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 17, 1918, to Lloyd and Velma (Rollings) Converse. On June 29, 1941, she was married to Ed Winter, who predeceased her in 1987.
She is survived by one son, Richard Winter and wife Terry of Arkansas City; one sister, Opal Lambert of Peabody; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established with Marion Christian Church.
