Dechant, Reece celebrate marriage

Hollie Michelle Dechant of Holcomb and Casey Joseph Reece of Hillsboro were married June 12 at Garden Valley Mennonite Church in Garden City with pastor Steve Ensz officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Shelli Dechant of Holcomb. The groom is the son of Charlie and Cindy Reece of Hillsboro.

Grandparents are Frances Norris of Garden City; the late Tom Norris; Marvin and Clara Dechant of Ness City; Gary and Shirley Carlson and Ed and LaQuetta Siebert, all of Marion; and Chuck Reece of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Great-grandparents are T. Ray and Helen Cox of Oklahoma City.

Maid of honor was Hope Dechant of Holcomb, sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Hilarey Friesen of Naples, Fla., sister of the bride. Best man was Chip Reece of Alton, Iowa, brother of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Danielle Dickson of Holcomb and Julie Wall of Hillsboro. Junior bridesmaid was Alyssa Walts of Fort Collins, Colo. Bride's personal attendant was Crystal Perez of Park City. Flower girl was Nennah Vainerere of Garden City.

Groomsmen were Jesse Janzen, Caleb Dirks and Matt Unger, all of Hillsboro. Junior groomsman was Chance Reece, brother of the groom.

Ushers were Travis Friesen of Naples, Jake Lauer of Holcomb and Kevin and Kyle Larson, both of Garden City. Ring bearer was Jonah Vainerere of Garden City.

Candlelighters were Kevin and Kyle Larson.

Musicians were organist Charlene Davis and pianists Sue Neufeld and Tim Davis, all of Garden City.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown featuring a white satin bodice and halter, covered in pearls and sequins, and a grand cathedral-length train. She carried a half-moon bouquet of red roses accented with her great-grandmother's handkerchief.

Following the ceremony, a reception given by the couple's parents was held at Fiesta Courtyard in Garden City.

Reception assistants were Shirley, Carla, Jessi and Chelsea Carlson, all of Marion; and Jessica Seibert of Emporia.

Gift-table attendants were Chassidy and Melissa Carlson of Marion.

The bride graduated from Holcomb High School in 2002. She attended Tabor College and is currently attending Emporia State University.

The groom graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2002. He attended Tabor College, is currently attending Emporia State University and is employed at Sherwin Williams Paint in Emporia.

Following a honeymoon in San Antonio, the couple resides in Emporia.
