“Working with G-Eye Mobile will bring another convenience to the people in Marion County,” said Mike Ryan, chief executive officer. “They offer currently offer five diagnostic tests previously not available in this area.”
A lactose-intolerance breath test is a non-invasive, affordable and easy test for detecting one of the most common gastrointestinal problems. The test measures the level of hydrogen expelled in a simple breath sample.
Andy Shewey has begun work as a representative for MB Foundation, the stewardship ministry of the U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, located in Hillsboro.
Shewey joins the foundation staff after five years in the admissions department of Tabor College and, most recently, more than 15 years as a financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial Services.
As am MBF representative, Shewey will encourage charitable contributions through current giving, estate planning and lifetime gift plans. He also will provide MBF programs and services to individuals and ministries throughout the Central and Southern districts of the MB conference.
“Andy brings vast experience in assisting individuals and families in meeting their financial objectives,” Jon Wiebe, MBF president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to his application of these skills to help individuals and ministries meet their financial and charitable objectives.”
Shewey is also excited about the career shift to vocational ministry.
“I look forward to helping those in the MB community with financial stewardship solutions,” he said.
Like so many of their family, friends and neighbors, the Gambles still have plenty to do before their farmstead looks and functions like they want. They believe it’ll take a couple more years. Ki and Kim’s 100-year-old farm is located about one-half mile north of Greensburg. On May 4, 2007, an EF-5 tornado ripped through the Kiowa County farming community stripping it bare of homes, businesses, huge trees and entire farmsteads. The Gambles were among those who experienced extensive damage.

Jim and Bernice Beach admit they’ve gotten rich during the 25 years they’ve owned and operated HRK Warehouse, their general-merchandise business at 109 N. Roosevelt in Marion.
Of course, the Beaches tend to count their wealth in terms of friends rather than dollars and cents.
“We’ve made a lot of friends, and all of them are customers,” said Jim.
