Offering a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for children and families is one of the biggest attractions of small-town living. In fact, it may be the greatest asset rural communities possess for pursuing a viable future. However, defining what constitutes a safe environment is as subjective as defining what constitutes fine art: “I know it when I see it.”
I’m still fuming about this past Saturday night’s football game at Arrowhead Stadium. And it’s not because my Jayhawks lost the game. It’s because of the greed that has crept into college sports.
I do pin this loss directly on the backs of the KU administration. What is home-field advantage for if you don’t use it to your advantage?
