Brian Freuchting’s run-scoring base hit in the top of the ninth inning propelled Marion to an 11-10 win over Hillsboro in the first game of their doubleheader on Thursday.
Marion came back to sweep the twinbill with a 9-6 victory over the Trojans in Game 2 at Memorial Field.

Marion finished fifth and Hillsboro eighth in a strong 17-school field at the fifth annual Marion County Invitational Golf Tournament on a beastly windy and cool Friday.
The Hillsboro tennis season ended Thursday at the regional tournament it hosted at the Sports Complex.
The two Trojan entries in singles, Clay Shewey and Mark Prieb, fell one victory short of qualifying for state, losing in the quarterfinals. The top four finishers move on.
