The Marion County Commis­sion was only five minutes into a budget cycle discussion Monday when Commissioner Bob Hein brought up that it’s going to be “hard to figure” fuel expenses in the foreseeable future, especially for the road and bridge department.

The Marion City Council reappointed David Mayfield as city manager and Dean Keyes as interim police chief by two consecutive votes of 4-1, with Councilor Bill Holdeman voting “no” both times.
