Brison Gooch of Silverton, Colo., now retired after a 45-year teaching career at universities across the country, was on the Tabor campus last Tuesday for a reception in appreciation of the gift.
Hillsboro High School student Ben Bosworth (left) is congratulated by Marck Cobb, president of the Anatoly Karpov School of Chess in Lindsborg for receiving a full scholarship to this summer's Anatoly Karpov International Chess School camp July 8-13 with Grandmaster Yury Shulman in Lindsborg. The presentation was made Wednesday. Bosworth finished 63rd out of 167 high school players at the state chess tournament in Maize earlier this spring.
