Hillsboro American Legion Post 366 continued to steamroll through its regular season, sweeping all five games it played last week, including a three-game round-robin tournament at Tabor College Field over the weekend.
The team started its week Wednesday with a 15-0, 15-0 clubbing of Salina, then ran the table at its home tournament: 11-1 over Buhler on Friday, 12-2 over Abilene on Saturday and 6-2 over Moundridge on Sunday.
Local officials are looking for host families to house and transport players from teams participating later this month in the Kansas Babe Ruth 14-&-Under Tournament of Champions.
The tournament will be at the Tabor College Field in Hillsboro from Friday, July 25, through either Monday or Tuesday, assuming no weather delays.

Claire Overstake, Hillsboro, competed June 21-22 in the U.S. Association of Track & Field National Masters Multi-Event Championships at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo.
The 51-year-old Overstake, an elementary school teacher the past two years in Hillsboro, will teach middle school math and science at Goessel this fall.

The Hillsboro Swim team came away Saturday from its second and final home meet of the season with a victory.
The meet was delayed by two hours because of thunderstorms, but when
it was over, Hillsboro, with a nearly full contingent of swimmers, had
compiled 614 points with Peabody amassing 552 and Herington 245.
According to coach Mary K. Humber, Hillsboro posted 62 personal-best times.

The Marion swimmers took first place by a wide margin at Hesston this week, placing 284 points ahead of second-place Hillsboro.
Led by 23 individual and first-place finishes out of 73 events, Marion totaled 619 points. Hillsboro placed first in 18 events and scored 335. Solomon (321) and Hesston (245) combined for 32 first-place finishes.
The younger of the Marion boys fared particularly well in the medley and freestyle relays. First place relays included the following groups: Evan C., Cooper G., Janson G., and Jacob V. (8 and under); Mason P., Adam K., Garreett A., and Remington P. (9-10); Wiley L., Zac L., Nick M., and Zach R. (11-12); and David H, Zach H, Ethan P. and Andrew K. (13-14).
The Marion girls aged 15-18 group of Tiffany C., Bridget L., Emily H., and Whitney C., also won both the freestyle and medley relays.
