With a pair of losses this week, the Tabor College women’s basketball team heads into the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournament with a three-game losing streak.
Kansas Wesleyan defeated Tabor, 54-41, Saturday in Salina, and Sterling beat the Bluejays, 54-38, on their home court Thursday.
Breanna Wray, a junior from Walsh, Colo., and Tasia Johnson, a sophomore from Dallas, Texas, will represent Tabor College at the NAIA Indoor National Track and Field Meet on March 6-8 in Johnson City, Tenn.
Wray qualified in the 20-pound weight throw with a throw of 50 feet Feb. 23 at the Kansas State Open.
Johnson qualified in both the 60- and 200-meter dashes. She ran her 60-meter time Feb. 23 at Kearney State and her 200-meter qualifying time Feb. 22 at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Johnson’s times were 7.82 in the 60 and 25.8 in the 200.
Corissa Bartel, a senior on this season’s league champion, 31-6 volleyball team at Hillsboro High School, signed a letter of intent Feb. 8 to participate in volleyball at Tabor College this fall. Michael Scheele, starting lineman for the 6-5 bi-district champion Hillsboro High football team, signed a letter of intent Friday to play football at Tabor College next season.
