With five returning letter-winners on a squad that includes three seniors and 15 total competitors, the Centre High School golf squad is primed for a successful season.
The squad features senior Tye Remy and letter-winner junior Kacey Hanschu, sophomore Jacob Jennings, sophomore Heath Hill, junior Josh Olsen and junior Ben Krause.
Nine others give the group depth and will push the top six to take a few strokes off their game. They are sophomore Seth Stroda, senior Justine Jennings, sophomore Chase Spindler, sophomore Quentin Wacker, sophomore Derek Calvert, freshman Adam Matz, freshman Tyler Klenda, freshman Ben Wirtz and senior Bryant Brunner.
Jacob Edwards beats a pickoff attempt to the first base bag early in Hillsboro’s 6-4 win over Collegiate. Edwards capped off a strand of four straight base hits that equalized the game at 2-2, keeping starter Isaac Leihy in the game. Edwards scored an insurance run late in the contest.
