April showers limited the Marion High School track team to one meet last week and with the postponement of the Smoky Valley Invitational to Monday, the Warriors’ most recent test came at the Centre Quint April 8.
Dianne Sanders’s two-run, pinch-hit single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Hillsboro to a 5-4 come-from-behind win in Game 2, completing a doubleheader sweep of Halstead Tuesday at the Sports Complex.

Hillsboro and Marion opened the track and field season with competitive showings at a five-team Central Kansas Track League meet at Marion on Tuesday, April 1.
Hillsboro boys and girls each placed third in their respective divisions while Marion boys took first and the girls second.
In a field that included larger schools such as El Dorado and McPherson, MCAA members Halstead and Smoky Valley, and area teams from Centre and Peabody-Burns, the Marion track teams more than held their own at the Warrior Invitational April 4.
