On a rare night when Eagles matched up against Eagles, Canton-Galva hung tough but ultimately fell short of defeating Olpe on the road last Tuesday night, 21-13.
At stake was an opportunity to face third-ranked Pittsburg-Colgan in Saturday’s Class 2-1A regional round.
Centre senior Kylie Burhoop was named to the 2007 Eisenhower all-league first team, as was junior Leann Pankratz. Senior setter Samantha Alvarez received honorable mention.
Five players represented Hope on the all-league first team, with White City and Wakefield each receiving two nods from the selectors.

Striking early and striking late, the Hillsboro Trojans survived an aerial dogfight with the Remington Broncos on Thursday to advance to the state playoffs with a 33-26 victory at Reimer Field.
The win qualified the Trojans, 2-1 in District 11, for bi-district play Tuesday against Sedgwick.
McMillen, who had established himself this season as one of the top performers in Class 3A, faded toward the end of the 5-kilometer route and finished 41st in the field of 104 runners.
