Spencer Brown missed the point-after kick, but Hillsboro had a 6-0 lead only 24 seconds into the contest.
But that was just the start. After Remington went three-and-out, Hillsboro pieced together an 11-play, 51-yard drive, with Yoder finding the end zone again, this time from six yards out. Hillsboro’s 2-point...

Anthony Melton hammered his way into the end zone two plays later, giving the Threshers a quick 7-0 lead and temporarily silencing an energetic home crowd.
Tabor went 3-and-out on its second possession, and a long punt...

The Warriors stood tall, forcing a punt, but were unable to convert a third-and-short on offense. Marion punted, and four plays later, Jake Thiessen finished off a 32-yard catch-and-run for a 6-0 lead. The Broncos went back to Thiessen for the 2-point conversion and led 8-0 with 7:32 to play in the first quarter.
