Two quick touchdowns near the end of the second quarter transformed a close ball game into a rout Tuesday night, as the Hillsboro Trojans rolled to a 48-13 victory at Sedgwick in bi-district play.With the score 14-7, Jacob Yoder finally gave the Trojans some breathing room when he scored from 5 yards out with 2:31 left in the first half. Southwestern Collegee dropped the Bluejays to 0-7 in conference play with a 26-20 win in Hillsboro Saturday.The Moundbuilders got off to a fast start when Michael Coppock broke loose on a 50-yard touchdown run 1:16 into the game, making it 6-0 after a failed 2-point conversion run.
Tabor bounced back behind freshman quarterback Anthony Davis, who completed a 40-yard catch-and-run to Matthew Dean and a 10-yard score to Lance Stubbs.
In the second quarter, the Moundbuilders tallied twice on the arm of Jesse Lyons, who threw touchdowns of 16 yards and 6 yards to Ryan Molz.

The Hillsboro Trojans survived a wild showdown with the Remington Broncos on Thursday to advance to the state playoffs with a 33-26 victory at Reimer Field.The Trojans appeared to be on the way to an easy win when Brandon Brown intercepted the Bronco’s Cole Cherryholmes on the very first play from scrimmage. The Trojans then scored on their very first play when Jacob Yoder broke loose with a 48-yard touchdown gallop. Spencer Brown missed the point-after kick, but Hillsboro had a 6-0 lead only 24 seconds into the contest.

Tabor takes 41-20 Homecoming loss against Bethel

Bethel College rushed for five touchdowns, three of which were scored by Anthony Melton in the first half and two of which came on the strength of quarterback Josh Rogers' legs. The Threshers totaled 219 rushing yards on 51 attempts Saturday, handily defeating Tabor 41-20.The Bluejays got off to a rocky start, punting to Bethel on a 3-and-out to start the game. With the wind at their backs, Bethel went to the air and connected for a 24-yard completion from Brett Clow to Lance Francis down to the Tabor 10. Anthony Melton hammered his way into the end zone two plays later, giving the Threshers a quick 7-0 lead and temporarily silencing an energetic home crowd.

Cole Cherryholmes picked apart the Warriors secondary Friday night, throwing three touchdown passes and running for a fourth.Remington came out firing, throwing an incompletion deep down the right side of the field on the first play, then looking deep down the left sideline for a 53-yard completion only moments after the opening kick.
The Warriors stood tall, forcing a punt, but were unable to convert a third-and-short on offense. Marion punted, and four plays later, Jake Thiessen finished off a 32-yard catch-and-run for a 6-0 lead. The Broncos went back to Thiessen for the 2-point conversion and led 8-0 with 7:32 to play in the first quarter.
