Delbert E. Roper, 79, a farmer, stockman and cattle buyer, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, in Hastings, Neb.
The service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, Neb., with Pastor Joyce Beam officiating.
Burial was in Hardy Cemetery, Hardy, Neb., with full military rites.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.
He was born May 5, 1929 to Earl and Edna (Workman) Roper in Courtland.
He married Alta Faye Briggs on Jan. 3, 1951, who preceded him in death Sept. 1, 2004.
Others preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Patricia, on Aug. 11, 1965 and a sister, Bethal Persinger.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Roper of Hastings; brother, Harold Roper of Lincoln; a granddaughter, Jennifer Peterson of Ft. Worth, Texas; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
