Larry Boettcher, Newton, has been named director of development for Tabor College, effective last Wednesday.
“We are very fortunate to have Larry Boettcher join the Tabor advancement team,” said Tabor president Jules Glanzer.
“He has a passion for Christian higher education, experience in development and seeks to further the Tabor mission,” he added. “His strong faith and time spent in ministry, coupled with an understanding of Christian stewardship, is a perfect Tabor fit.”
Ron Braun, vice-president for advancement, said Boettcher will bring significant fundraising experience to Tabor.
“Larry’s background in fundraising, planned giving and administration will serve him well as director of development,” Braun said. “He has a diversified background of working with large and small organizations and understands the importance of good relationships.”
Boettcher comes to Tabor after serving as director of development for the Good Samaritan Society in Lyons. He also was director of development for the Via Christi Foundation in Wichita from 2005-10 and worked for the American Heart Association in Dallas, Texas.
“Tabor has been blessed through the years to have a faithful and generous constituency,” Boettcher said. “I am excited and look forward to partnering with current and new donors as we work to fully meet the annual fund goals as well as to fulfill the Signature Campaign goals to build a new center for the arts on campus.”
Boettcher holds a bachelor of arts in Christian Education and Bible from Barclay College and has attended the Houston Graduate School of Theology.
He and wife Ruth have a college-aged daughter, Kate, and are members of the Grace Community Church in Newton.
