Written by Hillsboro Free Press Tuesday, 26 June 2007 17:07Lowell Peachey of Hillsboro has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Mennonite Manor in South Hutchinson.
He began his duties June 25.
“The board and supporting churches are very pleased to have Lowell's leadership experience, vision for the future and passion for the ministry of Mennonite Manor,” said board president Leroy Hershberger.
“We are confident that he will strengthen our tradition of care.”
Peachey most recently served as vice president of business affairs at Bethel College in Newton. He has also served as president of a Kansas bank for 10 years and his experience also includes multiple banking roles and service with Mennonite Economic Development Associates in Haiti.
Peachey is a native of Harrisonburg, Va., and a graduate of Hesston College and Iowa Wesleyan College. He is pursuing a master’s in business administration from Wichita State University. He is a board member of Prairie View Inc., and Mennonite Economic Development Associates. He and his wife, Rita, have four children, one son-in-law and one grandson.
Peachey has already outlined for the board plans for improving and updating the facility as well as developing and implementing more focus on standards of care.
“Meeting residents and staff will certainly be my first priority,” Peachey said. “I am looking forward to becoming a member of the Mennonite Manor family and continuing the tradition of care and Christian service for which the Manor has always been known. As such, we will be restricting new admissions until we have fully developed our strategic plan for providing additional training for new staff, as well as outlining the method for updating current facilities.”
