Written by Hillsboro Free Press Wednesday, 18 July 2007 10:32Roll call for the July 6 Goessel Goal Getters meeting was to name a safety tip. This month was the club tour, a meeting held in the park where 4-Hers bring projects that they will exhibit at the fair.
For new business Aileen Esau reminded us that Olivia Regier was running for Tri-County Fair queen. (She is first attendant). She also talked about the Safety Day our club hosted. She thought it had gone well and the attendance was fair.
At the recent bake sale we raised $156.50 for the Goessel Library. That money will go to improve the young-adult section.
We also welcomed our new members at this meeting.
Hannah Perry reported on the council meeting. Derek Kruger reported that his committee had decided to have a 4-H booth at Threshing Days. The booth would promote 4-H, as well as scheduling a scavenger hunt for anyone who wants to join in.
Next, each 4-Her came to the front of the group and talked about a project they had brought. It was interesting to learn about some of the different things our 4-Hers were up to.
After that, Hannah Bartel and Bruce Benjamin told about going to 4-H camp. Anthony Esau told us about what he and Grady Stultz had done at Discovery Days.
The next meeting is a pool party at the Hillsboro Aquatic Center July 30.
4-Hers are to meet at the pool for a short meeting and then swim until 9 p.m.
