Mayor Delores Dalke speaks of dilapidated, substandard housing—and substandard people—as if this were Mayor Delores Dalke speaks of dilapidated, substandard housing—and substandard people—as if this were some sort of priority (Jan. 5 issue). It is not. What is much more substandard, and of much greater concern to decent citizens, should be the licensing, approving and peddling of alcohol, tobacco and pornography, and all the other various and sundry mixtured and offshoots thereby. The mayor “strains at the gnat” while “swallowing the camel.”
