ENGAGEMENTS-Duerksen, Pontius to wed Sept. 22

Linessa Duerksen and Justin Pontious, both of Newton, together with their parents, announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Doug and Lisa Duerksen of Goessel and the granddaughter of Archie and Helga Schmidt of rural Newton, James and Connie Wiens of Goessel and Rodney and Martha Duerksen of Oklahoma. Her great-grandmother is Evelyn Schmidt of Goessel. She is a graduate of Goessel High School and is employed at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

Her fiance is the son of Ron and Roberta McGlachlin of Newton and the grandson of Lavada and the late Paul Holub of Pilsen and Jay and Hazel Pontious of Linconville. He is a graduate of Newton High School and is employed at Prestressed Concrete in Newton.

The couple plans to marry Sept. 22 at the Pilsen Community Center.
