Marion High Singers to perform Dec. 16

The Marion High School Snigers will give a candlelight concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion.

The location is a change from the city building as listed in the school calendar.

The public is invited to attend.

Goessel K-6 choirs to give Dec. 14 concerts

The K-6 students of Goessel will present their Christmas program at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in the Goessel Elementary School gymnasium.

Directed by Marcia Brubaker and accompanied by Mary Schmidt, students in kindergarten through third grade will present "Christmas in the Country," with songs of Christmas at Grandma's, gifts, sleigh rides and animals. Third-graders will be featured as narrators, dancers, soloists and instrumentalists.

Directed by Greg Bontrager and accompanied by Brubaker, the fourth-grade recorder ensemble and fourth-to-sixth-grade choir will perform, with instrumentalists Ali Buller, Tia Goertzen, Shane Goerzen, Gracie Sullivan and Georgia Thiesen.

To conclude, the K-6 choir will lead the audience in "Away in a Manger" and "Joy to the World."

The public is invited to attend.

Santa visit planned for Dec. 17 in Lehigh

The township and city of Lehigh invites the public for an afternoon with Santa from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Lehigh City Building.

The afternoon will also include games, activities and food to celebrate the season. Tunnel of lights at county lake

The neighbors on Hill Road at Marion County Lake invited the public to drive through a "tunnel of Christmas lights" from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17.

The trip will include 10 acres of decorated "wonderland," lighted snowflakes in trees, a 30-foot Christmas tree, decorated homes and Santa and his reindeer taking off across the lagoon.

Free cocoa will be served at children will receive candy canes.

Hillsboro MB choirs to perform Dec. 17

The choirs of the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church will present their annual Christmas programs on Sunday, Dec. 17.

The adult choir, directed by Brad Vogel, will perform the cantata "Morning Star" during the morning worship service at 9:30 a.m. in the Hillsboro High School Gymnasium.

Shirley Baltzer will direct the children's musical, "Miracle at Midnight," at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The public is invited to attend.

Card shower request for John Rempel

The family of John Rempel requests a card shower to celebrate his 85th birthday Dec. 20.

Cards may be sent to him at 701 S. Main, Apt. 6, Hillsboro KS 67063.

GHS music concert set for Dec. 21

The Goessel High School music department will present its Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 21 in the high school auditorium.

The 68-member Bluebird band, directed by Bud Meisel, will perform five selections, followed by the 72-member Concert Choir, directed by Greg Bontrager, and Elbiata Singers.

To close the concert, audience members will be invited to join the choir on stage to sing the "Hallelujah Chorus."

Bible study starting for Goessel women

A Bible study for women in the Goessel area will begin in January from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays.
